Biden visiting an aluminum plate plant in Iowa has nothing to do with the presidential election

That's what Joe Biden says, anyway. He wants to just find out more about bomb-resistant vehicles.
Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden toured a plant today in Riverdale that produces aluminum plates for Army vehicles.

The senator says the trip has nothing to do with his campaign. Instead, the tour was meant to further his knowledge on bomb-resistant vehicles when he speaks on the matter in the Senate.

Biden has led a push to build bomb-resistant vehicles, which can stand up to roadside explosives far better than standard Humvees.

Wearing a yellow hard hat and safety goggles, Biden toured the plant and questioned workers about producing the plates used to build vehicles for troops in Iraq. Biden says he's also visited two plants in South Carolina that build the vehicle bodies to learn more about the production process.

Meeting with reporters later, Biden said he's seen how the armored vehicles are improving security.

There are two ways to go with this news article.
1. He's telling the truth and this trip has nothing to do with Iowa primaries.
If this is the way to look at the article, then that's good for him. He was just busy finding out more about a topic he knows nothing about, and wanted to learn. If this is the case, shame on the press for picking this up as a presidential news story and saying it has nothing to do with the presidential election.

2. He's lying to make it seem like he cares about the troops more than being president, in a humble sort of way.
This is the one I'm leaning towards. When was the last time you saw a politician just stroll into the local manufacturing plant just to see what's going on when there's NOT an election coming up? They always have to put on the yellow hard hat and safety goggles, too. You know, to appear relatable to the working man. Plus, it's in IOWA! C'mon! This has everything to do with the election, and everyone knows it!

When will people stop falling for this junk?! Seriously, it's complete bullshit. I actually posted the whole article here, it's pretty short, but it's from a local ABC affiliate.
