Romney's Slip

I have to admit, it's a very easy mistake to make. Here's Mitt Romney's quote in response to new audio from Bin Laden:

"Actually, just look at what Osam -- Barack Obama -- said just yesterday. Barack Obama, calling on radicals, jihadists of all different types, to come together in Iraq. That is the battlefield," Romney said, according to the Associated Press. "It's almost as if the Democratic contenders for president are living in fantasyland. Their idea for jihad is to retreat, and their idea for the economy is to also retreat. And in my view, both efforts are wrongheaded."

Say it with me: Osama. Obama.

See, it's very easy to mix up. Only one letter's different. He started to say Osama, but I'm sure he has a lot on his mind, especially Barack Obama. The second sentence of the quote is about the Democrats running, so I'm sure Obama was part of his train of thought.

What was the Obama campaign's response?

Obama spokesman Bill Burton said that, "Apparently, Mitt Romney can switch names just as casually as he switches positions, but what's wrongheaded is continuing a misguided war in Iraq that has left America less safe. It's time to end the divisiveness and fear-mongering that is at the heart of Governor Romney's campaign."

Wow. Great response. It was just some "fear-mongering" that slipped out. Right...

Who gives a fuck?! Seriously, people make mistakes talking ALL THE DAMN TIME! Fuck you Washington Post (and I guess originally the Associated Press) for even bringing this non-issue up.
